In this 45 hour course, we will cover about a fourth of the totality of the program of the B2 level listed below.
Remember that: the suggested number of hours to cover the B2 vantage level is around 180 hours. Students might cover each level in more or less hours than this suggested number by Instituto Cervantes depending on different factors.
The most recognized tests that prove Spanish competence and locate students' level are the DELE and SIELE exams.
Students can split the coverage of these hours in as many courses they wish and the school, teacher, method and pace that works best for them.
Goals
The goal of the B spectrum (both B1 threshold and B2 vantage) is to turn students into independent speakers. After having being introduced to the "real world" of the language in the previous B1 level, we build up our knowledge and practice to reach a more comfortable position in which we use the tools and resources we have with more confidence.
This vantage point allows the students to acquire, at a faster pace, new tools and resources by themselves. B2 is the level at which the students feel that the hard work they have done up until this point starts to really pay off.
This level should aid the socialization with native speakers of the learning language. This natural interaction should enhance the net of cultural references of the students: music, food, popular culture, even politics, or ways of looking at life from their specific region of interest, or from the Spanish speaking world in general.
