C2 Spanish courses
and training
Mastery level
C2 is the last level of all, there is nowhere else to go after here. This is where students adjust and mechanize the last bits and start to perform with practically the same ease as native speakers. That is why it is the called the mastery level.
According to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, a C2 student should learn and master these capabilities:
-
Can understand with ease virtually everything heard or read.
-
Can summarise information from different spoken and written sources, reconstructing arguments and accounts in a coherent presentation.
-
Can express themselves spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations.
The number of hours that a student requires to cover each level varies depending on different factors like:
-
How closely related the native language and the language that the student wants to learn are.
-
If this is the first foreign language the student learns (foreign languages are languages we learn as adults), or if on the contrary the student speaks other foreign languages.
-
Motivation.
-
Dedication.
The suggested number of hours to cover the C1 advanced level is a minimum of 180 hours. Students might cover this level in more or less hours than this suggested number by Instituto Cervantes depending on factors like the ones listed above.
The most recognized tests that prove Spanish competence and locate students' level are the DELE and SIELE exams.
Students can split the coverage of these hours in as many courses they wish and the school, teacher, method and pace that works best for them.
